علق جونزالو هيجواين على رفض آرسنال التعاقد معه عندما كان في ريال مدريد، في الوقت الذي ضم خلاله الجانرز زميله في الفريق مسعود أوزيل.

كان ميركاتو استثنائي، الذي حدث في صيف 2013، حيث رحل عن ريال مدريد مسعود أوزيل بعد انضمام جاريث بيل، وغادر الثلاثي كاليخون وهيجواين وراؤول ألبيون إلى نابولي.

في ذلك الوقت، كان آرسنال قريبًا للغاية من ضم هيجواين، ولكن المقابل المادي كان سببًا في إيقاف الصفقة حسب ما أكد جونزالو.

وفي تصريحاته لشبكة “TYCSports” الأرجنتينية، قال هيجواين: “قبل ذهابي إلى نابولي، كانت هناك فرصة للانضمام إلى آرسنال”.

وأضاف: “رغم أنني كنت قريبًا جدًا منهم، اشتروا أوزيل مقابل 80 مليون يورو أو شيء من هذا القبيل، ولم يتعاقدوا معي”.

وأشار ساخرًا: “قالوا لي إنه ليس لديهم الكثير من المال وأنني غالي الثمن، وبعد انضمامي إلى نابولي بيومين، اكتشفت أنهم تعاقدوا مع أوزيل مقابل 80 مليون يورو”.

وعن فترته مع ريال مدريد، قال هيجواين: “إنه أكبر نادٍ في تاريخ كرة القدم، لديهم 14 لقبًا لبطولة دوري أبطال أوروبا. بالنسبة لأي لاعب لا يمكن أن يرفض ريال مدريد”.

وأردف: “لعبت لـ ريال مدريد منذ أن كان عمري 19 عامًا وحتى 26 عامًا، تمكنت من لمس السماء بيدي، لأن لا يوجد أكبر من ريال مدريد في كرة القدم”.

وكشف: “سجلت في موسم 27 هدفًا، أكثر من رونالدو صاحب الـ26 هدفا، ثم بعد أن ذهبت إلى العطلة، رأيت أنهم وقعوا مع رونالدو وبزيما وكاكا، اتصلت بالنادي وسألت عن ذلك، لكنني كنت أعرف الإجابة، وهي أنني ألعب لـ ريال مدريد”.

وأوضح: “يجب أن تنافس الأفضل في ريال مدريد، هذا كل ما عليك فعله، إنهم يجلبون اللاعبين الرائعين باستمرار، وهذا ما يجعل النادي الأفضل في التاريخ”.

وعن منافسته مع بنزيما: “لقد عرفت كريم منذ أن كنت صغيرًا، لم نتقدم بشكل جيد سويًا، لكننا كنا نتنافس على نفس المركز”.

واختتم: “لا يفاجئني أنه اليوم أفضل لاعب في العالم، منذ اليوم الأول وهو يظهر كم هو لاعب رائع للغاية”.

استطاع منتخب مصر الأول لكرة السلة أن يحقق فوزًا كبيرًا على السنغال بنتيجة 67-43 في أولى مبارياته بالمرحلة الثانية من التصفيات المؤهلة لكأس العالم.

A partir do jogo desta quinta-feira, contra o Vitória, pelo Campeonato Brasileiro, o São Paulo passa a receber partidas no Morumbi com uma área interditada pela Justiça. A área do setor térreo que sofreu queda de grade nas quartas de final da Libertadores de 2016 não poderá ser utilizada até que um laudo técnico seja concluído.

O problema ocorreu na comemoração do gol de Michel Bastos, hoje no Palmeiras, na vitória por 1 a 0 sobre o Atlético-MG, em 11 de maio do ano passado. A grade de um dos camarotes não suportou o peso da celebração de torcedores e 25 caíram, deixando 16 feridos.

A interdição do setor foi determinada pela Justiça após recurso do Ministério Público de São Paulo. A determinação é de que o clube tem 30 dias para apresentar o laudo técnico a respeito da área. A informação foi publicada inicialmente pelo “portal Uol”.

O São Paulo informa que a decisão não altera os planos para a partida desta quinta-feira, no Morumbi, já que não abriria esta área. Não há previsão do número de partidas em que o setor ficará interditado, mas o clube avisa que vai recorrer na Justiça.

Aston Villa are ready to meet Juventus’ demands for midfielder Weston McKennie, according to Corriere dello Sport, cited by Sports Witness.

The Lowdown: McKennie profiled

McKennie, a USA international, is a central midfielder who can also play in a defensive role or on the right-hand side.

He made his loan move to Juventus from Schalke permanent this summer in a deal worth £18.45m.

McKennie, described as a ‘leader’ by David Wagner, has made 46 appearances for the Italian giants and has turned out in a remarkable eight separate positions during his career.

The Latest: Villa bid

According to Corriere dello Sport, cited by Sports Witness, Villa are ready to satisfy Juventus’ €30m (£25.7m) valuation for McKennie.

The report added that McKennie ‘did not accept’ a move to West Ham and also ‘doesn’t like’ the sound of a Villa Park switch.

However, they finish their story by saying that might change before the end of the month, so a deal could be one to keep a close eye on.

The Verdict: Avoid

If McKennie doesn’t like the sound of a Villa Park switch, then Johan Lange and co should end Villa’s interest straight away.

The club have managed to lure the likes of Emi Buendia and Leon Bailey to the Midlands this summer, so if McKennie isn’t keen, perhaps Villa should look elsewhere.

The report claims that McKennie might have a change of heart in the final days, but it sounds as if he wants a move to Tottenham, so Villa shouldn’t wait around and play second best.

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni is expecting to have Aston Villa pair Emi Buendia and Emi Martinez for all three World Cup qualifiers during the international break.

Villa released a statement over the weekend regarding Buendia and Martinez, claiming the pair would be available for matches against Venezuela and Brazil but not a third against Bolivia.

The arrangements Villa thought they had agreed on would mean both would miss one Premier League game against Chelsea due to quarantine restrictions.

However, Scaloni, talking to the media, posted on Twitter by Roy Nemer, believes he will have both Buendia and Martinez available for selection for all three qualifiers.

“We gave the list for the three matches and there’s no doubt about it. The players are here for the three matches.”
