Amelia Kerr claims 4 for 13 as Spirit crush hosts by 73 runs

London Spirit rounded off their low-key Women’s Hundred campaign on a high with a commanding win as they hammered Birmingham Phoenix by 73 runs at Edgbaston.Grace Harris’ belligerent 87 off 47 balls lifted Spirit to 172 for 5 after they were put in by a Phoenix side already doomed to finish bottom of the table. Harris and Richa Ghosh thrashed 48 in 25 balls to ensure a daunting target.Phoenix replied with 99 all out in 76 balls with Amelia Kerr taking 4 for 13 as Spirit ended their staccato campaign with a second win to go alongside four defeats and two ‘no results.’ For Phoenix, the drubbing was one final instalment of a nightmare which has seen them lose seven with one washout.In a gesture which rather summed up Phoenix’s accident-prone campaign, the main scoreboard at Edgbaston went ‘phut’ just before the start of the match and remained blank throughout the first innings. It missed a perky start from Spirit openers Danielle Gibson and Harris, who added 46 in 20 balls. Gibson struck four of the ten balls she faced for four before being yorked by Charis Pavely.Kerr chipped to mid on and Sophie Luff was well held by Issy Wong at deep square but Harris advanced to a 31-ball half-century, reached with her tenth four, a sweet sweep which crested the rope in front of the dormant scoreboard. The Australian celebrated with successive sixes, off Erin Burns and Sophie Devine, and Ghosh also cleared the ropes in a blitz which brought 19 runs in four balls.Ghosh was run out after a mix-up but Harris continued to bat with power and purpose, adding 13 fours to her two sixes before she was run out off the final ball of the innings.Phoenix needed something spectacular with the bat but lost their top five in 45 balls. Devine was superbly caught by Kerr at deep square from the third ball of the innings and Tess Flintoff was bowled, sweeping at Charlie Dean.Sterre Kalis’ counter-attack of 28 from 16 balls was ended by an lbw decision for Sarah Glenn before Kerr took two big wickets in five balls. Amy Jones was caught by Dean at extra cover and Burns sought six over long on but found only Gibson right on the rope.That left Phoenix skipper Eve Jones with 104 to find from 55 balls and only the lower order for company. Her departure, bowled through a slog at Kerr, only accelerated the procession and when the ubiquitous Kerr caught Wong at long on, Spirit were home and dry and left to ponder what might have been if they had produced performances of this power earlier in the tournament.

في الدقيقة الأولى لمس محمد صلاح الكرة لأول مرة وبعد لعبة تبادلية مع أحد زملائه، فقد حاول المرور من مدافع ميلان الذي نجح في إبعاده عن منطقة الجزاء.

وفي الدقيقة الثامنة قام صلاح بإرسال عرضية تصدى لها حارس ميلان ماينان، وفي الدقيقة التاسعة دخل محمد صلاح إلى منطقة الجزاء ولكن مدافع ميلان أبعد إحدى الكرات برأسه قبل أن تصل للنجم المصري.

وواصل دفاع ميلان تألقه حيث تصدى لتمريرة محمد صلاح إلى أحد زملائه في منطقة الجزاء في الدقيقة الرابعة عشر.

وفي الدقيقة 27 كاد مدافع ميلان أن يسجل هدف بالخطأ في مرماه بعد متابعة عرضية صلاح إلى دومينيك سوبوسلاي ولكن الكرة ذهبت فوق القائم.

وفي الدقيقة 28 حاول أن يمرر صلاح كرة خطيرة لكن دفاع ميلان شتت الكرة،وخرجت عرضية النجم المصري خارج الملعب في الدقيقة 29.

وفي الدقيقة 31 كانت أخطر فرص صلاح بعد أن سدد لوب ولكن كرته كانت فوق قائم ماينان حارس ميلان ومرت بسلام على الفريق الإيطالي.

وفي الدقيقة 33 أبعد دفاع ميلان عرضية لمحمد صلاح، وفي الدقيقة 41 سدد محمد صلاح بطريقة استعراضية رائعة ولكن تسديدته جاءت بجانب المرمى قبل أن يغادر بين شوطي اللقاء.

The Northern Diamonds’ title defence in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy is over – their fate sealed during a thrilling final-day group defeat against Sunrisers at Durham.The Diamonds needed to beat the Sunrisers – also eliminated today – at the Seat Unique Riverside to have any chance of progression for the knockout stages next week.But other results also needed to go their way, which they didn’t and were confirmed as the Diamonds were about to start their defence of a revised target of 126 in 18 overs, which came down to the visitors needing 10 off the last over.The Diamonds made 114 for 6 in 18 overs after play was delayed until 2pm and further interrupted. Bess Heath top-scored for the hosts with a quick-fire 37 off 21 balls two days after making her senior England debut, while new-ball seamer Eva Gray impressed with 2 for 24.Sunrisers, who needed a bonus victory amidst a host of other things to go their way to finish in the top three places, then hunted down their Duckworth Lewis Stern target for the loss of four wickets with three balls to spare.Fifth-wicket pair Jo Gardner and Flo Miller were their heroes, sharing an unbroken 49. وأشار إلى أن الفريق سيواصل تدريباته دون توقف استعدادًا لانطلاق بطولة الدوري الممتاز، مشددًا على أن الجميع داخل النادي يعمل بكل قوة من أجل تلبية طموحات الجماهير والمنافسة بقوة على جميع البطولات خلال الموسم المقبل.

وفاز الفريق على الملعب التونسي بأربعة أهداف مقابل هدف، كما تغلب على فريق البنزرتي بخمسة أهداف دون مقابل.

O STJD, por sua vez, repudiou as cenas lamentáveis deste domingo. Em nota, o órgão disse que vai aguardar o recebimento das súmulas para analisar os casos e tomar ‘medidas enérgicas’.

‘A Procuradoria da Justiça Desportiva vem a público repudiar os fatos graves e lamentáveis ocorridos nas partidas entre Ceará x Cuiabá, válida pela Série A do Campeonato Brasileiro, e Sport x Vasco, pela Série B do Campeonato Brasileiro, ambas realizadas neste domingo, dia 16 de outubro.

– A Procuradoria agirá com rigor em todos os casos de violência nos estádios de futebol. Pais e todas as pessoas de bem precisam se sentir seguros em qualquer jogo de futebol no Brasil e vamos lutar para que seja essa a realidade – afirmou o Procurador-geral Ronaldo Piacente.’

Shaheen Shah Afridi, the Pakistan fast bowler, has soared seven spots to become the No. 1 ranked ODI bowler in the format, according to the latest ICC rankings.The 23-year-old speedster has had an impressive start to his ODI World Cup where he is currently the joint-leading wicket-taker alongside Adam Zampa, with 16 wickets in seven innings at 19.93.Afridi displaced Australia quick Josh Hazlewood, who now moves to second, from the top spot. Mohammed Siraj and Keshav Maharaj have also lost one place moving to third and fourth position on the table respectively. Afridi’s move to the top comes on the back of a three-wicket haul against Bangladesh, where he finished with 3 for 21 in nine overs. During the course of the game, he also reached 100 wickets in ODIs in just his 51st innings, making him the third-quickest to the landmark and the quickest fast bowler just ahead of Mitchell Starc.With Babar Azam holding on to the top spot on the batting front, Pakistan now have two players occupying the No. 1 position in the batting and bowling format.Babar’s lead is only a slender one – by two rating points – with Shubman Gill close on his heels. Babar has only managed 216 runs in seven innings, averaging 30.85 with three half-centuries.
